Singer Rae Gordon to present concert Aug. 24 in Milwaukie to benefit the Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County
MILWAUKIE, Ore. – Blues and gospel singer and recording artist Rae Gordon will present a concert Thursday, Aug. 24, in Milwaukie as a benefit fundraiser for the nonprofit Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County.
The third annual “Sipping for Seniors” wine and beer tasting event will run 5-8 p.m. at Gray Gables Estate, 3009 S.E. Chestnut St., in Milwaukie.
The $25 tickets include a glass of wine or beer, hors d’oeuvres and a raffle ticket. The raffle prizes include two tickets to an upcoming Oregon Ducks football game, donated by Wells Fargo.

Based in Portland, Gordon started her singing career in Los Angeles. She has been described as a combination of Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Grace Slick.Willamette Week named Gordon the best blues artist in Portland for 2017. Earlier this year Gordon and her band also placed third in an international blues competition in Memphis. For three straight years the Cascade Blues Association named Gordon the Best Female Vocalist.
For 45 years the Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County has provided free or low-cost services for home-bound, frail, vulnerable and geographically isolated individuals. Not available anywhere else, its programs promote independence, improve quality of life and prevent or end abuse, neglect (including self-neglect) and exploitation of at-risk seniors and adults with disabilities.
