Andy Daniel was raised in Arizona. He went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff where he obtained a B.S. in Forest Management. Hoping to continue his education and work in the field of environmental law, he relocated to Portland and started law school at Lewis and Clark College in 1982. Following his first year, he obtained a law clerk job in Oregon City and continued working while taking law classes in the evenings. In 1986, he obtained his law degree, passed the bar exam, and has been practicing law in Clackamas County for thirty years. Although he did not continue vocation in environmental law, he has handled a variety of matters including complex condemnation claims, real estate and domestic relations matters, business litigation, personal injury claims and criminal defense matters. He has acted as a mediator and arbitrator in hundreds of cases. Since the early 90’s, the focus of his practice has been to represent individuals that have been injured through the fault of others.
Andy is proud to have spent a great deal of time in volunteer activities. He acted as an investigator for the Oregon State Bar local professional responsibility committee. He tutored in the minority law student summer institute program. He was the chairman of the law school faculty evaluation committee. He is a volunteer arbitrator for the Oregon State Bar fee dispute program. He has even been able to sit on the Mertie Steven’s scholarship committee where he has been able to grant hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship funds to deserving Clackamas County High School graduates. Andy has been a member of the advisory committee of the Senior Citizen’s Council since 1992.
Andy has been happily married to his wife Heidi, a pediatric oncology/hematology nurse at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, for 28 years. He has a son and daughter, Alex and Erika, who are the pride of his life.
